CUNY City Tech/NYU C2SMARTER Poster Presentation & Social

March 5, 2024

In early March, C2SMARTER’s NYU contingent hosted members of CUNY City Tech’s faculty and students for a Poster Social. C2SMARTER director and NYU Prof. Kaan Ozbay as well as City Tech Dean Gerarda Shields provided opening remarks to kick off the event.

Attendees could view the various research endeavors at their own pace and ask questions of the respective researchers. Students from both institutions were able to display their own poster as well as inquire about the research efforts of their peers.

In the spirit of technology transfer, students from both schools presented their research at the informal event aimed at connecting the two neighboring campuses through posters and pizza.

In the photo below, City Tech students presented work using computer vision to aide in building inspection. Other topics discussed include assessing the accessibility of MTA stations, determining the viability of using eCargo bikes to deliver parcels in NYC, and how to balance all the players in a Mobility as a Service (MaaS) ecosytem.

Both universities took something valuable away from the experience, and plans are already in the works for how to continue this partnership in the future.
