Read MoreOver the course of May 15-18th, NYU Tandon hosted KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology) for the first KN-C³ Workshop. KAIST faculty and students traveled from Korea for the four-day workshop for a research exchange between the two schools, which focused on transportation and urban research.
The goal of the workshop, which was to connect researchers and find common interests for future collaboration, was certainly met. Representatives from both KAIST and NYU presented their impressive and cutting-edge transportation research. See the presentations below.
Yoonjin Yoon: Transportation Research Overview
Yuyol Shin: Urban traffic forecasting using DL
Namwoo Kim: Urban region representation learning using mobility data
Seyun Kim: Inferring driver workload based on physiological data
Changhyun Kwon: Rebalancing EV sharing systems & Drone-assisted last-mile delivery
Jinkyoo Park: Neural combinatorial optimization and its application to logistics
Samer Madanat: Mitigation of GHG from the transport sector & Protection of transport systems from SLR inundation
Kaan Ozbay: C2SMART-ER USDOT Transportation Center overview & Urban traffic modeling and safety
Semiha Ergan: Virtual reality for work zone safety
Masoud Ghandehari: Exposure to extremes and the simulation of the urban microclimate
Eugene Vinitsky: Low-level model of human driving
Hani Nassif: Smart urban roadway testbed in Brooklyn
Joseph Chow: Fleet-based electric vehicle research
Zhong-Ping Jiang: Learning to drive autonomously
Daniel Vignon: Economic analysis of vehicle infrastructure cooperation for driving automation
Luis Ceferino: Prioritizing flood-monitoring areas within cities: a stakeholder-based and equity-driven approach
Jingqin Gao: Computer vision for urban transportation analytics
Saif Eddin Jabari: Matrix completion and ensemble learning for sensor-state prediction & Stealthy backdoor attacks on DRL-based AV control systems
