C2SMART Data Viz Lab
C2SMARTER hosted a Fall Kickoff Event for undergrad and graduate transportation students. Students met each other, ate pizza, and learned about the program changes in this year’s curriculum as well as the Center as a whole.
Transportation professors Joseph Chow, Daniel Vignon, Eugene Vinitsky and Masoud Ghandehari were also present and gave some background on what the semester has in store for students registered in the various transportation programs.
Director Kaan Ozbay gave an overview of C2SMARTER and how the Center can be of interest and use for transportation students of all levels. Research priorities, projects, and partners were all highlighted for the students.
Programs like the Student Learning Hub were also introduced as well as recurring events like monthly webinars and the biweekly discussion hour that will take place at the C2SMART Data Viz Lab.
Student organizations such as ITE and ASCE were highlighted by NYU ITE Student Chapter President Matt Fiore, who discussed upcoming events (such as October’s TransportationCamp) and the benefits of joining the groups.
After the presentation, students were able to socialize with fellow transportation students and ask questions of faculty/admin.
