Daniel A. Vignon is an incoming Assistant Professor at NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering, where he will conduct research in the area of transportation economics, focusing especially on ride-hailing systems, smart-infrastructure and automated driving systems.
He is currently pursuing his PhD in Civil Engineering and MA in Economics at the University of Michigan. Under the supervision of Professor Yafeng Yin, his research seeks to inform the design, regulation and operation of emerging mobility services and of smart infrastructure systems. Drawing from his background in both engineering and economics, he models and analyzes the interactions of these systems with different markets, studies their impact on social welfare, and designs policies to maximize welfare. He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
