C2SMARTER Student Researchers Awarded Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship

Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship

C2SMARTER is very proud to announce that 3 of our student researchers were recently selected as recipients of the Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Program, provided by U.S. Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration.

This program advances the transportation workforce by helping to attract the nation’s brightest minds to the field of transportation, encouraging future transportation professionals to seek advanced degrees, and helping to retain top talent in the U.S. transportation industry.

The three students are Hannah Bonestroo, Zhenglei Ji, and Zuri Watts.

Hannah is a second year student in Urban Systems. Her award winning proposal is: “Assessment of Safety Impacts of Policy and Infrastructure Changes for App-Based, Delivery Drivers in New York City.” Her intended research would evaluate whether city initiatives have led to measurable safety improvements and a reduction in accidents for app-based, delivery drivers in New York City

Zhenglei, who also was accepted to the 2024 Ken Wang Scholars Program and selected by Eno Center for Transportation to be a 2024 Leadership Development Conference Fellow, is a  Ph.D. Candidate in Transportation Systems Engineering at NYU. His current research interests are in advanced air mobility systems, network design, and airline operations research applications

Zuri is an NYU MS Transportation Systems Management candidate and GEM Fellow, and has a foundation in Civil Engineering and hands-on experience in Transportation Engineering. She is dedicated to addressing transportation disparities through equitable and sustainable transit planning.

Congratulations to all 3 students on their well deserved awards!
