June 11-12, 2025 - Saratoga Springs, NY

On June 11-12, C2SMART researchers traveled to Saratoga Springs to present their work and attend Intelligent Transportation Society- New York’s 32nd Annual Meeting & Technology Exhibition, the theme of which was ‘Transforming Transportation through Technology.’
Dr. Jingqin Gao participated in the Safety & AI Analytics panel, where she presented “AI in Motion: Video Analytics for Automating Pavement Inspection and Work Zone Detection.”
Dr. Gao’s presentation discusses her research efforts around Computer Vision technology and details related projects done in collaboration with industry and agency partners.


Student researchers took part in the meeting’s poster competition, where PhD candidate Zerun Liu’s poster, “The Effects of Increased Electric Truck Weights on Road Infrastructure,” won first prize!
Shuo Zhang’s poster “Improving work zone safety: Integrating VR-CARLA Co-simulation and Eye Tracking for Behavior Analysis of Drivers Around Work Zones” received second place.
