We recently hosted our annual Fireside Chat, which is a series that invites industry experts to expound upon their career trajectories, experiences in the field, and their invaluable insights for engineering students preparing to enter the workforce.
This year’s guest was David Hammer, president and cofounder of Popwheels, which is a start up focused around e-bike battery swapping in New York City.
Moderated by NYU PhD candidate Enola M., the chat involved topics such as Popwheel’s recent e-bike charging pilot collaboration with New York City Department of Transportation, the importance of e-bike safety on city streets, and the future of micromobility.
David also leveraged his work experience in large corporations as well as his current start up to provide students with a clearer understanding of different facets of the industry.
